Making London homes warmer, greener and more affordable

Warmer Homes London is a new organisation, launched earlier this year by London Councils and the Mayor of London in partnership with London boroughs and housing associations, with a bold and urgent mission: to tackle fuel poverty across the capital, accelerate progress towards net zero and drive forward London’s retrofit revolution at scale. This is about much more than making homes more energy efficient—it’s about tackling rising costs, reducing health inequalities, and improving the lives of thousands of Londoners.

Each winter, far too many people suffer or die prematurely because they live in cold, draughty homes. The UK has the poorest insulated housing stock in Europe, and for too long progress in improving it has been frustratingly slow with London’s houses and flats responsible as a result for around a third of the capital’s carbon emissions. Warmer Homes London is changing that. By aligning devolved funding with regional and local delivery, and through collaboration with government, housing associations, community groups, and the supply chain, we are building a platform for long-term, systemic change.

We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved so far. Through the collective leadership of London boroughs and the Mayor, we have already unlocked hundreds of millions of pounds of new investment into London’s homes. Our approach is to move beyond the limitations of short-term funding cycles and deliver a sustained, scalable retrofit programme that benefits people, communities, and the environment. With the established collaboration between the Mayor of London and London Councils and the promise of an Integrated Settlement, the future is promising.

The Senior Leadership Team of Warmer Homes London is central to this mission. We are seeking exceptional leaders who share our passion for social impact and climate action, and who can bring together partners to deliver real change on the ground. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Warmer Homes London at a critical time. We are looking for individuals, to support programmatic delivery by our delivery partners and agents, forge new partnerships, and build confidence at all levels that London can deliver. The Senior Leadership Team will need to work together and step forward to scale this new organisation, driving it towards its mission with purpose and momentum.

In the first instance, we are looking to recruit for the role of Managing Director, with other positions on the Senior Leadership Team to follow. This role offers a rare platform to lead transformative change at scale.
